Struck

Anyone have any good transit strike/commute stories? I stood in a 20 block-long line in Jamaica, Queens for almost 2 hours this morning, resulting in an approximately 3.5 hour commute. I still can't feel my ass.

i woke-and-baked, put on long-johns, and walked to work. it took me about an hour and fortyfive minutes, but only because i made a few pit-stops on the way. and i still can't feel martha's ass. (though that won't stop me from trying the next time that dom's not looking!)

The strike was positively delightful for me. I stayed home on the first day of the strike to do homework, but I went in on Wed. and Thurs. School was delayed opening for two hours, so I got to sleep in a little. Then, since I drive to work anyway, my commute was unaffected by all the chaos. Finally, since none of the students could get to school, I had between 3 and 6 students in any class. So no one expected me to do anything and I didn't try. Good times.
